AAA Education
Description
This course is designed for students intending to pursue careers in early childhood education, K-12 teaching and higher education. Topics include goal-setting, time management,
textbook reading strategies, note-taking, test-taking, listening techniques,
concentration and memory devices, stress management and critical thinking for
student success. Three credits.
The common curriculum of AAA 090 will be themed adding relevant activities, special readings and videos. Other highlights
- Professionalism/Networking
- Professional panels (i.e. early childhood, elementary school, middle school/high school, special education, higher education)
- Campus Involvement (i.e. peer educator & programming, student club Tomorrow's Teachers Today, etc.)
- Off-campus Involvement (i.e. volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club, schools as teacher assistants/tutors etc.)
- Careers (i.e. Early Childhood teachers/aids/directors, K-12 teachers, student services and teaching at the post secondary level, etc.)
- Academic Planning (i.e. Masters level careers/programs, Bachelors level careers/programs, Certificate level careers/programs)
Assessment/Evaluation
- Students who complete this themed course can be compared to students who complete general AAA sections. Sections can be compared in terms of completion of AAA 090, GPA in the course and learning gains (pre/post assessment).
